Cando as últimas choivas de Abril desaparecen e chegan os primeiros raios do sol, a natureza estanos dando un sinal: comeza o novo ciclo natural, e iso para un pobo labrego coma o noso é un motivo de celebración. Así comezou hai miles de anos a Festa dos Maios en Galicia.
Nestes días moitos/as de nós estariamos na procura de fiúncho, flores, musgo, carrabouxos… para preparar o noso maio, así como elaborando coplas cheas de crítica social. Esta festividade está moi presente nos maiores, especialmente naqueles que residen en localidades como Redondela, Ourense, Pontevedra, Marín, Vilagarcía…
A proposta de hoxe é seguir mantendo viva a tradición dos maios a través da memoria dos maiores. Se na vosa zona é tradición, aproveitade para contarlles aos vosos netos/as, fillos/as como viviades esta festividade, que se cadra é distinta, ou non, a como se vive na actualidade. E se nunca fixeras un maio esta é unha boísima ocasión cara comezar!!
